Alopecia - September 4th, 2009

This, of course is a dreaded topic for most men. When I think of going bald myself, it send chills down my neck and I definitely start to view myself as an old man. I have lots of personal experience with friends and baldness. In fact, some of them have been extreme cases of male pattern baldness. For example, one of my friends, who shall remain nameless, started going bald at a very young age. If I recall correctly, he started going bald in high school! I think we all started noticing that his hair was receding, and was thinner than most of the guys at our school. By the end of high school, it was very noticeable, and when we graduated college, his hair was pretty much a gonner. His solution, was to just shave it all off, or “bic it” as we called it.

I am susceptible to hair-loss, that’s for sure, but I’m not sure how things are going to turn out for me. My grandfather on my mother’s side was bald for most of his life, but my great-grandfather passed away at the age of 90 with a nice full head of hair. I guess my chances are 50/50, so I’m going to start looking for some hair-growth shampoo to help improve my chances.
