Once you hit certain ages, they are far more likely to stress the use of vitamins and vitamin supplements. They talk about vitamins being key to your health all along. But once you hit the age of 50 or 60, they start creating specialized vitamin supplements for both men and women that are meant for those men and women over a certain age.
Obviously, they have covered the basics, while cutting out iron in women’s vitamins. When you hit menopause, your body cannot eliminate iron in the way that it used to. Vitamins such as vitamins C, D, E, and others remain the same. Without these, your body will not function properly, and they are important at any age.
But one of the things that changes is that they give you substantially more calcium. This may well change with a growing focus on getting calcium from your food and new studies that suggest that calcium supplements can substantially increase your risk of heart attack while only preventing a small number of bone fractures.
However, those supplements made for seniors usually use higher amounts of vitamin C as well. As we age, our immune systems are more likely to shut down and not function as properly as we would like. They use vitamins such as vitamin C to put the immune system back where it should be while antioxidants like vitamin E and alpha lipoic acid provide you with further protection and wellbeing.
There are other vitamins that can be found in senior supplements. And there are certain vitamins that are more essential and more effective or beneficial than others. But this is just one of those that happens to be the most effective.
Ever heard of snake oil? Well, I had a bad experience last week that really upset me and made me very weary of ordering anything over the internet for a little while. I came across a website for a product called Vitali-H plus, and did research about this new product. I went to their site to read customer feedback and found the review to be very good. Many people had actually used the product to regrow hair.
This should have tipped me off, but the claims weren’t too huge that I couldn’t believe them. So I called up their customer service number that they had placed up on their website and discussed the product with them. The rep said that some of their customers saw up to one inch of re-growth down the scalp. Wow! Those are pretty good results. So I ordered the product for only 24.99 and got it 5 days later. I tested it out and it actually started to burn my scalp! It hurt like the dickens!
So I decided to check out the ingredients that were in this so-called miracle cream. It turns out that some of the ingredients in this crap are also included in hair REMOVAL creams! Luckily I only used it once and returned the product for a refund. Just don’t ever use Vitali-H plus if you come across it!
So this is a really weird thought, but I was wondering if wind will affect hair loss. It is a widely known fact that sun, excessive heat, and other forms of harmful heat and radiation can quickly increase the rate of hair loss, but I wasn’t really sure if wind could cause issues. I ran this idea by my wife and she actually thought that I was a little crazy for thinking this! I couldn’t believe that she thought I was crazy. She has very crazy ideas all of the time and I never say one thing about it! Anyway, I’ll stop rambling about my wife, but just let you know that it really got my blood boiling!
So I took our argument to the one place I know I can always find some sort of supporting information… Google! So I just Googled hair loss and wind and started reading what it said. I actually found a hair loss doctor that believes wind can contribute to hair loss! He believes that all of the elements, including rain, wind, and sun all contribute to hair loss. He posted some information from a client that supports his theory which I have linked for you to check out.
I hope those of you who are dealing with hair loss like myself are able to cope with your situation. This really is something that is more common than you or I even realize. As I search the internet for some type of miracle grow product, I have come across a lot of sad stories of men who are dealing with hair loss on top of other issues that plague aging men. This is also something that can affect women, which I feel is even worse than it is for men. Men can look good bald, but women on the other hand, just can’t cut it. They usually end up wearing a wig that is very noticeable and glaringly apparent to those around them.
I have a neighbor lady that I talk to every so often, and the other day we got talking about hair loss after I made a joke about how I get more bald every time I see her. Anyway, she told me that her husband used to eat cayenne peppers to help with his baldness before he passed away. Cayenne pepper actually has been proven to help improve blood circulation among other things. So this will also help increase the blood flow to your scalp. She said her husband started to grow hair back! I’m not too sure if I believe it 100% but I think it’s worth a try!
My previous post talked a lot about a new ”radical” study dealing with hair re-growth. That study that I came across really got me thinking about the different possibilities that the future may hold. I am a really big fan of Star Trek and other science fiction movies, shows, and books. I am an especially big fan of Star Wars. One of the coolest technologies dealing with people is the prosthetic hand and wrist that was put on Luke Skywalker in The Empire Strikes back. They make it look really cool and even show the inside workings. It’s almost like his hand grown back and he had full use of it again.
What if there was real technology that could regrow a full head of lost hair right before our eyes? Wouldn’t that be amazing! With the use of lasers to correct vision and now to help with hair re-growth, who really knows what the future will hold for hair-loss and male pattern baldness. Maybe something will even be invented to totally cure male-pattern-baldness.
Maybe I’m just a little bit weird when it comes to technology, but I think that a lot of these scifi writers see the world how it is and how it could be and make it their reality through story. I would really like to dream big, and think that someday soon a cure or high-tech treatment will be available for hair loss treatment.
In my quest to find some solid information about hair loss and it’s treatment, I came across a website that asserted some pretty interesting claims. They provided some test results to back up these claims. The following information that I’ll present goes against some of the things I included in my previous posts, so just keep that in mind when you read on.
The site asserted that male pattern hair loss in men is not really a result of stress and is not really caused by wearing a hat every day or even very often. They claim that baldness is not a result of having worn your hair in a certain way or the things that you have used to style it. And a very surprising claim that they make is that it is not a result of a nutrient deficiency, and that it isn’t because of a lot of sweating, or sebum on your scalp. Male pattern baldness and hair loss is called Androgenic Alopecia, and it is the result of Hormones and genetics. Their explanation is that it is because of one reason only, which is that you’re losing hair because your genetics are programmed to. Your hair follicles have all been pre-programmed to become extra-sensitive to changing hormones and hormonal activity taking place in your scalp. The explanation is that certain hairs and hair follicles become so sensitive to natural hormones that your body begins to slowly reject them.
This is a very radical study and the results are still in question, but it was definitely something new to look in to.
What is Rogaine? I’ve heard about it for years and seen commercials on tv advertising it’s great results and effects, but I’ve never really even known what it does or how it works. To start off, I went down to good old Walgreens down on the corner. I looked at the products available for hair loss treatments, and to tell you the truth; Rogaine really looked the best on the shelf. Aside from the shiny packaging Rogaine is really packed with great stuff that can rescue you from male-pattern baldness. After my visit to the drugstore I headed home to take a look at their website to get some more info. According to their website , by age 35, two thirds of American men will experience some degree of appreciable hair loss, and by age of 50, approximately 85% of men have significantly thinning hair. This is a HUGE problem! Luckily, Rogaine came along…
Men’s Rogaine is a foam that you apply to your hair and scalp twice a day, every day for as long as you wish to continue treatment. This is the first FDA approved hair growth foam. In fact, it’s the only foam ever to be approved by the FDA. The foam has been proven to reverse and even regrow hair in 85% of men who use it twice daily! This is definitely something worth checking out!
Sometimes men experience unexplained hair loss that seems to be coming on for no apparent reason. Most of the time, you can trace and link hair loss with heredity or other genetic issues. A lot of times hear loss is linked to some disease. Also, some other noted issues can be caused by environmental factors such as too much sun exposure or excessive exposure to heat. Behavioral factors are also an issue that can go unnoticed and unchecked without you even realizing it.
Some of these issues are caused by using the wrong type of brush or comb and can even be caused by using the wrong technique when brushing. Also, when you use harsh creams or hair products, many times they are brutal on your hair and hair follicles and scalp. They will also dry your hair out. So, even though I’ve given you a lot to think about, there is another issue that you may not know about that is usually environmentally connected.
Many people have grown up around power lines and other sources of high power. If you are experiencing sudden hair loss, recent studies have shown that this may be cause by significant doses of ionizing radiation coming from sources such as power lines. These are recent findings and are very alarming, so you may want to consider moving away from power lines if you want to keep your hair.
One of my close friends who is diabetic has started to lose his hair and he thinks that the hair loss might be related to his diabetes. If you don’t know anything about Diabetes, you’re in the same boat as most of the people that I’ve talked to about this issue. Diabetes is a disease related to hormones and can cause thinning of the hair or hair loss. Many people don’t know that losing hair can be caused by diabetes. Just on a side note though, although hair loss can be caused by diabetes, it is not that common. For people with diseases or other health issues, it is always best practice to take extra precautions when dealing with your hair. Diabetes often goes unnoticed and undetected in older men, and unless it is caught and controlled at an early stage, it can cause issues with hair loss, among a whole slew of other problems.
One of the reasons that hair loss can be an issue with diabetics of older age is because uncontrolled diabetes can cause reduced blood flow. If the blood flow is reduced in the scalp and hair follicles, this will cause the growth to slow or even come to a stop.
This was meant to keep everyone who might be interested in diabetes and hair loss informed.
I had never really looked into hair transplants and never really understood what hair transplants were. People have always mentioned that this was an option, but I never really considered it. Hair transplantation is a surgery which involves moving skin that contains hair follicles. The skin graft is taken from the donor site and moved and grafted on to the bald area of the scalp. The most popular use for this surgery is for men who have male pattern baldness, but it can also be used for burn victims. It can also be used to help restore eyebrows and eyelashes as an alternative means. It also works well for beards where scar tissue has formed and prevented the growth of natural, normal hair..
Hair grows in naturally and in follicles. These follicles contain groups of hairs ranging from of 1 to 4 hairs. The modern techniques used today usually take these groups of naturally occurring follicles and transplant them in one unit. This modern techniques helps to make the hair look more natural and blend in better with pre-existing hair. Check out more about hair transplants HERE.
I was very glad to find out that the modern techniques have improved so much. It looks like doctors have really improved their techniques over the past 20 years and transplants are more of a realistic option for many men.
